In reality, I don't think that's it at all. Roy Williams may have taken advantage of that opportunity once upon a time while he was captain of the Flagship, but that was a long time ago and far, far away from where we are now. And it was St. Roy and the Flagship, both of whom operate in a totally different realm of arrogance and condescension from normal human beings, including Bruce Weber.

I'll always agree with politicians forcing state universities to play each other in sports. As long as these three universities are lining up for government money, and their staff/Presidents/coaches are employees of the state of Kansas, forcing public universities to play each other should be entirely within the jurisdiction of politicians. Don't like it, go private.
There is a significant financial advantage to the state of Kansas for its three high profile public universities to play each other in athletics (as long as it isn't done at the Sprint Center -- that would be ridiculously dumb). And from what I understand, Kansas needs every penny it can squeeze together. Something like this would require zero money to be spent by the state of Kansas and would be a big revenue winner wherever the games are held.
It'll never happen, though, because politicians are cowards.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

Sports is about the challenge and opportunity to prove yourself against your competition. Only in Lawrence and Manhattan does refusing to play, refusing to compete qualify as a win. They are not sportsmen. They are arrogant, self-absorbed cowards. It's really that simple.

Of course, Jayhawk fans would drive through Afghanistan to the Bagdad Center to watch the hawks...
No WSU game vs KSU or KU should EVER be played in missourah unless it's the NCAA tournament. Make the bastards come to Wichita. Most of those dumb ass provincial Joco inbreds can't even spell Wichita.

And Btw, what part of my response that you took issue with had anything to do with WSU playing KU, at the Sprint Center or anywhere else?
ps - yes, they are pansies..Last edited by jocoshock; December 21, 2014, 12:13 AM.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

How else to explain that it takes special marketing and pleas from BS for the KU fans to stop singing "home of the Chiefs" at the end of the national anthem when played in AFH.
Any Governors cup game should be played in Kansas only--- rotating between AFH, Ahearn (don't like Bramalage) and Koch/Intrust.
Keep Kansas dollars in Kansas.

I have never argued against their willungness to cross the line to watch basketball.
Oh and by the way, I have never heard a single Shocker fan on this board declare their refusal to watch th Shox play in the Sprint Center or Municipal Auditorium. When they do play in KC(Mo), it looks like the Shox are the home team...Last edited by jocoshock; December 22, 2014, 04:08 AM.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!
